And even if you do talk to someone, my experience is that they won’t be friendly or helpful – they will just tell you to keep driving/leave. In many cases you won’t even get to see or talk to a ranger as they like to just close the gates to the parking lot at the street which is now lined with signs that read something to the effect of ‘Park full, no stopping, come back later’. Basically, if you try to visit the park on a nice weekend, if you arrive after around 10am you should plan for the chance that a ranger will tell you the parking is full and then send you away. Recently though the way that the rangers are managing access/parking is disgraceful. I love the park itself, great hiking and climbing.
I have been visiting Crowders for over 20 years.
